Ms.Medicine, the 1st network of highly trained concierge women’s health providers is expanding its clinical leadership team with the addition of an Associate Medical Director and an Associate Medical Director of Gynecology. Ms.Medicine practices are focused on reversing the disparity in women’s healthcare with comprehensive, evidenced based, longitudinal care for mid-life women and beyond. This team was created to guide compassionate, quality care and assist in the implementation of the advancement of women’s health equality within medicine.
Led by Lisa Larkin, MD, FACP, NCMP, IF, the Ms.Medicine CEO, this leadership team is expanding to include Laurie Birkholz, MD, NCMP, as Associate Medical Director, and Kamilia Smith, MD, OBGYN, as Associate Medical Director of Gynecology. Having extensive experience, they proudly offer their women’s health expertise as pillars of support to our affiliate practices. These clinicians will build standardized operating procedures and maintain the advancement of our clinical offerings as both time and technology continue to advance. Not only will they serve as brand ambassadors, they will also reinforce the value of concierge medicine and Ms.Medicine’s place as an industry leader in primary care.

Dr. Birkholz, is a board certified Family Medicine physician and fellowship-trained Women’s Health specialist. Dr. Birkholz believes in the importance of caring for the whole woman through a holistic approach based in lifestyle medicine and prevention. Her Women’s Health training allows for additional focus in areas that include menopausal medicine, sexual health and gynecology. She is committed to providing a safe space that offers compassionate, evidence-based medicine while promoting social tolerance and equality. ALL are welcome and celebrated in her concierge practice.
Dr. Smith is an OB/GYN and a fierce women’s health advocate in Texas and nationwide. She is a board-certified Fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a certified menopausal health practitioner by the North American Menopausal Society, and clinical assistant professor at Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine at Baylor University Medical Center. Dr. Smith is also the founder of Charleston House Gynecology, which she created to provide a truly personalized healthcare experience for women beyond childbearing.
Prior to opening Charleston House, Dr. Smith co-founded Magnolia OB/GYN at Baylor University Medical Center. After graduating from Texas A&M, Dr. Smith served as a healthcare policy advocate in Washington, D.C. and then moved on to do so at the state level in Austin, TX. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor University Medical Center in 2007 where she continues to practice today.
